History
Conner tops an artistic, emotionally-driven foundation with dance-inspired drums and catchy guitar lines to create its magnetic indie rock sound. The band's debut full-length, "The White Cube," has gained the band international air play and attention, proving that a truly independent band can make a name for itself based on the quality of its music alone. Conner has played with bands like Sahara Hotnights, The Killers, Hot Hot Heat and Dismemberment Plan.

Phil (bass) and James (singer / songwriter /guitar) met in Omaha about 6 years ago. Phil was a music major at UNO and James was a 16 year-old high school drop-out. They formed a band and called themselves Tow Truck Mike, named after a man in small town NE who towed them after their van blew up on the way to CO. After a year in Omaha, Conner moved to Tampa FL for 6 months. Phil spent time in jail, and James and Eliot (Tow Truck Mike's drummer) drank too much. James and Phil moved to San Francisco for 2 years and played in a band that was called Red Rule for some stupid reason. In 2000 James and Phil picked up and moved to Lawrence KS for school and started calling themselves Conner. Conner went through a number of guitarists and drummers before settling on Bryce (drums) and Tom (guitar). The band has been recording at Underground Sounds Studio in Lawrence while James Goes To KU. Conner has played with such acts as The Dismemberment Plan, Amazing Crowns, Gadjits, Mooney Suzuki, Sahara Hotnights, Duvall, Chuck Mead (of BR549), Kut Master Kurt, and Calvin Crime.-->
