History
David Hasselhoff on Acid is a four piece experimental, progressive, aggressive funk band from Kansas City, Kansas. It consists of bass, drums, and guitars all around played respectively by Erich Thomas, Alexander Thomas, and the two Phils; Wolf and Dos. Erich and Alexander are brothers and Phil Wolf has been a long time compadre, so it just made sense. They joined forces in the winter of 2006 and have managed to keep on jamming. DHOA added guitarist PhilDos in the summer of 2008 and have since gained a depth and wholeness to their off the wall action packed, psychedelic rock. Over the past two years DHOA has come up with about two full hours of material. Their demo CD entitled ...And the Search Party Never Came... has four tracks (Alive but Dreaming, F-Zero, When in Rome, and Quest for Fire) as well as some additional live tracks. "We began work on our debut album in mid January 09' and are finally planning to release our masterpiece to the world in early May. As one could tell by listening to our music for a few minutes, we aren't slaves to one genre, or even two. We have no boundaries with our music, we believe in letting the songs go where the music takes us. Our music ranges from mellow jazz riffs to groovy funk and even bordering on the verge of metal. We put an immense amount of emotion in to our music and let ourselves be completely free from any false or fake energy on stage and off. Our live shows are more of an experience than a concert. We immerse people in the music until the show is done and the crowd wakes up from the reality we just put them in. We hold the idea that one can not share their art with others unless the artist is completely part of their creation: the artist has to be the art. This is why our live shows are so powerful. We let the music work through us."
