Description
Sound description: Guns, whiskey, and bluegrass: three things that are seriously missing in mainstream music. That's about where Lawrence's Deadman Flats comes in. With songs about fast trucks, loose women, PBR, LSD, and other lewd topics, this is one band that's getting nowhere slowly with its new record "Antlers."
Influences: Dead Kennedies, Greatful Dead, Dead Milkmen, WEEN, Hank III, Hank I, Split Lip Rayfield, Hackensaw Boys, Earl Scrugs, Jonny Cash, bluegrass of all sorts, and the Butthole Surfers
Similar to: WEEN, Split Lip Rayfield, Fast Food Junkies, Dewayn Bros, Podank String Band, Truckstop honeymoon, Butthole Surfers

History
Alex, Hank and Matt have been jamming together since high school. When we all succesfully transplanted from Hutch to Lawrence, we started Deadman Flats, and played for about half a year, before Matt met Mike Helvy picking out in front of the Replay one drunken night. From then on we just play as much as possible.
