Replacements, Pixies, The Wipers, Skid Mountain Boys, Lou Reed & the Velvets, The Fall, Sonic Youth, Stones, Jefferson Airplane, and Lucinda Williams. These are some. However, a lot of times I think I've happened upon a new fresh melody, I invariably figure out it's just 'Sweet Jane' all over again. Maybe every rock song ever written is derived from 'Sweet Jane.' And since Lou Reed obviously heard 'Crimson and Clover' more than once, I would have to say Tommy James is behind the whole damn thing.
