History
Ike Turner Overdrive are a four piece rock and roll band from Lawrence who have single-handedly pioneered the 'Danger Rock' genre. Through their explosive and oft controversial live performances, they have a gained a modest but dedicated following of fans ranging from denim-clad rock machines, to sexually experimental hipster-girls. Ike Turner Overdrive are such a band that you either love them, or you hate them. Or you think they're just OK.
Drawing distinct influences from classic rock and garage rock, the band preaches a message of personal liberty and guitar solos, summing it up with the phrase, "You have the fucking power." Indeed we all do, and that power is best expressed through the rejection of so-called societal norms and the acceptance of revolutionary windmill guitar-strumming. Ike Turner Overdrive are a band for the people.
