History
Hailing from the Appalachian Mountains, our father, Winston Khrusty (God rest his soul) taught us to play in his family band- Winston Khrusty and the Appalachian Mourners. We were raised on the road in RV parks, on church floors, and in the homes of the hospitable. When dad died several years ago, we formed The Khrusty Brothers. Initially we pursued the same path as he- folk music. However, in time our pallettes broadened. We added in rock, pop, and electronic music. This is our first album since Jonas, our engineer/percussionist brother, returned from travelling the world as a field recorder for National Geographic. He had initially left the band over aforementioned broadening pallettes, and remained a folk purist. However, in a stopover in Ibiza, he had two epiphanies- one, dance music is comprised of previously recorded bits of sound (samples), and he loves previously recorded bits of sound; and, two, he missed the family making music together. Now, Jonas is back, and we've made the finest album of our career. Our self-titled album, "The Khrusty Brothers", has been released digitally and MP3s ARE NOW AVAILABLE at WWW.WATERDEEP.COM/STORE.
