Lila (pronounced lee-la, Sanskrit for "Divine Play") was formed in 1999 as the duo of Deborah and Janette, with Alison Dishinger (bass) and Clark joining in 2003. Sean Scanlon joined as bassist when Alison moved out to Boulder a couple of years ago. Lila opened for Maura O'Connell when she performed in Lawrence in August, 2004, and for Judy Collins in January of 2006, and Lila has performed on the Homegrown Stage at the Wakarusa festival, at house concerts, and for events sponsored by the Lawrence Coalition for Peace & Justice, Solidarity, Kansas Woman's History Month, Unity, Shining Heart Sufi Community, and the Kansas State Fiddling & Picking Championship. They have produced three CDs, and have a video of the song "No Delay" on Neil Youngs' Living With War Today website - currently listed at #57 (out of some 400 videos).
