History
Many Moods of Dad formed in Lawrence, KS in the summer of 2006 when Cameron Hawk (Dead Girls Ruin Everything) and JP Redmon, who formerly made up the rhythm section of local local sons of power pop Podstar, decided they were bored-really bored. So, they did some rocking together as a drum & guitar two-piece, coming up with powerful, stream-of-consciousness rock and roll that marries seething guitar riffs with pure hooky bliss. They played a few shows like this, but time-and most of their friends-continued to tell the boys that a bassist was essential to round out the Dad sound. In response, they brought in former Podstar guitarist Aaron "Baron" Swenson to practice with them one day. Before this, he had never played the bass guitar. But just like everything else he picks up, Baron proved to be a whiz at the thing. Now, Many Moods of Dad is on its way to being an unstoppable power trio, spreading some much-needed paternal love all over the Kansas area. Their first release, the ASAPEP, is tentatively scheduled to drop in fall of 2007.
