History:
A third of the triumvirate (see also Stick and Kill Creek) that rose to the top of the Kansas scene about the time that Nirvana made all the labels realize that they, too, needed some grunge. Paw was the only one to make it very big at all on the national scene, however, signing to A&M Records and scoring a minor hit with "Jesse" (and its seemingly out-of-leftfield pedal steel solo). Paw put out two hard-rocking melodic albums — "Dragline" (1993) and "Death to Traitors" (1995) — before A&M dropped them in 1996. The band resurfaced in 2000 with founding members Mark Hennessy and Grant Fitch and new recruits Jesse Larson and Jason Magierowski. Their third album "Home is A Strange Place" was released on Koch Records.
