Description
Current Status: Red Guitar has officially released their second full-length CD entitled "Beauty Will Save The World." The CD has 10 songs and is available now from the band and at cdbaby.com. It will be available soon at local retail outlets in the KC/Lawrence area and at various online outlets, including the band's website www.red-guitar.com. "Beauty Will Save The World" is a culmination of 1 1/2 years of independent songwriting, recording, and mixing. It was recorded and produced by Tim Suttle who also plays guitar and sings with the band. Suttle also produced the band's debut CD "Based On A Blue Story," released in 2003. The studio process for this recording took on a more experimental feel, with lots of push-and-pull between band members, leading to a rich and evolved pop/rock record.
Sound description: Relative newcomers Red Guitar came together out of the dissolution of several KC bands, crafting acoustic-based rock driven by the harmonies of the two distinct but complementary singer-songwriters, Nick Nave and John McKenna.

History
Out of the Ashes... The distinct mellifluous sound flowing out of the Kansas City music scene these days belongs to Red Guitar, a driving acoustic-based rock band formed in late 2002. Rising out of the ashes of several other local bands, Red Guitar is putting hard rocking harmonies back into rock and roll. Based around the two distinct but complementary singer-songwriters Nick Nave and John McKenna, Red Guitar provides double-barreled satisfaction. Nave's compositions provide the smooth drive that permeates the sound, while Mckenna's more rustic numbers lend to the edge. Lyrics brimming with the yearning of early Springsteen, the passion of Neil Young, and the searching of the post-modern poets, Red Guitar is a musical and cognitive treat for those who care. Rounding out the lineup include the late 60's inspired sounds of electric guitar specialist Tim Suttle, and the adaptable rhythm section of drummer David Borberg and bassist Nate Jackson(who incidentally grew up on a mushroom farm).
