Current Status: Performing in Lawrence / Kansas City area.

Sound description: "Hobo music" :: Rockabilly and country blues from the Sun Records period, southwest-style "border sound" music, and classic country and western songs from the 1930's-to-1950's period (which many people consider the Golden Age of Country Music).

History

The Lonesome Hobos have been performing around the Kansas City area for over a decade in various incarnations. They have played everywhere from the Bottleneck to Elks Lodge to the Kansas State Fiddlin' and Pickin' Championships. Singer and band leader Billy Hunsinger passed away in 2002, but the band carried on.
