Google Maps, and it's big brother on steroids Google Earth are fascinating toys. They can be terrifying as well, like when you realize that anyone curious enough can dig around just about any neighborhood they like. No harm there, but the fact that there are photos of my own personal hobbit hole, like the one above, it's a little paranoia inducing.

But hey, why not do what I've done, and use that power for your own entertainment! A few quick searches will lead you to any number of funny or uncomfortable situations, like strip clubs ads taking up an entire street view, to people breaking in to (presumably) their own houses. But my personal favorite so far has got to be this one. Warning: Do not look below if you are offended by people pointing guns at children in public while no one cares.

Click the link and check that street out. You can run up and down and assemble your own dark narrative of what's going down. Then go on your our search, and let me know of anything good (funny or beautiful or shocking) that you find. Happy hunting!

Update: Google took the image down—here's a screenshot for posterity:

I sincerely hope that Wyatt Earp there gets sodomized by a rhinocereos and/or run over by a lawn mower.

You bring up an interesting dynamic for Google Earth that I'd never considered: Virtual walking tours of the worst ghettos on earth.

A new meaning to living a) vicariously or b) la vida loca.

Anyone ever seen one of the cars driving by with all the camera equipment strapped on top?

No, but I would have loved to see the look on their faces as they caught dude menacing this little kid.

Google is pretty quick, I'd say.
The .com homies are faster.

You have to copy and paste this address to see the original street view image.

Oh, guess you don't. Good.

You can still roll up and down the street to get the whole scene, also, for those who like to explore.

Ah, they pulled it. Some dude was spamming the blog comments with some cheesy third-party presidential campaign junk. But they yanked it, so my comments make even less sense than normal.

"Me and You and Everyone We Know"

Yeah, well. One man's bad attitude is another man's tunnel of love.
