Congratulations to our 2010 Day Away winners, Ashley Jones-Wisner and Brian Williams, both of Lawrence. Jones-Wisner turned a trip to the Maxwell Wildlife Refuge outside of Salina into a buffalo photo shoot, while Williams stars in a fun vacation shot with his daughter, Madeline, at the Rolling Hills Wildlife Adventure. Summer is heating up, which means plenty of travel opportunities. So our question to you is, what has been your favorite Day Away getaway? Send us a photo or video that best represents a trip you've taken any time from now to August 31. If we decide yours is the best, you'll win a Flip video camera or 32GB iPod touch.
One of those prizes will go to our favorite submission overall, and the other to a contestant who visited one of our sponsored locations - Rolling Hills Wildlife Adventure, Prairie Band Casino, or any destination within the cities of Emporia, Salina or Kansas City, Kansas.

Entries must be submitted to lawrence.com by 11:59 p.m. on August 31 and will be judged by a of panel employees of The World Company.
Full contest rules
1. Creating an Entry: To enter, a person/group must simply take a trip to a destination of their choosing, take a picture or video, and submit it to lawrence.com.
2. Submitting an Entry: Once you/your group have your awesome photo ready to go, submit it to us and we'll judge the heck out of it. If you opted to go with a video, no prob. Just provide us with a link to Youtube or whatever site you used to upload it to. Video entries must be in .MOV, .AVI or .MPG format. There is no limit to the number of times you can enter, so if you've got more than one trip you want to share then go for it! lawrence.com staff members will view all videos and photos prior to posting them on lawrence.com. Any entries that are inappropriate or that do not follow rules of the contest will be disqualified. You may submit your entry via our Facebook page or on Twitter with the hashtag #dayaway, which we'll be keeping tabs on.
3. The World Company’s Right to Entries: By submitting a photo or video, you give The World Company the right to publish it on its website. In order to receive prizes, the winner agrees to provide an uncompressed version of the winning video (if the winning entry is, indeed, a video) for lawrence.com to use on its site and in its marketing and promotions. The winner also agrees to allow his or her image to be used in marketing and promotions relating to this contest.
4. Entry Period: The video submission period begins on July 1, at 12 a.m. CST and ends on August 31, at 11:59 p.m. CST. Submissions before or after this period will be disqualified.
5. Selection of Finalists: During the voting period from September 1, 2010 through September 10, 2010, all eligible entries will be posted to lawrence.com and our Facebook page. A few World Company employees will look them over, pick the best ones and determine the winners. Winners will be officially announced on or around September 13, 2010.
7. Entrants: Employees of The World Company, Rolling Hills Wildlife Adventure and Prairie Band Casino are not eligible to participate. By submitting a video or photo to this contest, entrants guarantee they are at least 14 years of age.
