The pizza is hot, tasty and cheap. Can't ask for much more.

It's the best pizza in town, and you can get a deal, whether you want a whole meal with a salad and a drink and a brownie for dessert, or just a quick slice. Great when you're working over lunch.

Lots of options and different but hardly a plethora of cheese and toppings for the money. Good for a change of pace, but there are better values and better pizzas out there.
Maybe some people get preferential treatment. I asked how much feta goes on a pizza and was told "a generous helping". I asked what the portion was and was told "it just depends?".
My idea of generous and their's differed.
Still it should be tried as a Lawrence/KU tradition.

I crave it. Addiction can be a very blessed thing, and the only side-effect is the little jelly role that now pooches from under my t-shirts. The staff is outta sight! yow! and I'm sure if you asked, they would have put some more feta on your pizza, fella. I recommend a pie with chicken, pineapple, and double avacados.

A place that just says "college town" to me; the ambiance, the employees, and the location all make me think of a great college pizza place. the taste, however, makes me think of my favorite pizza in the whole city..rudy's is great

Rudy's has by far the best pizza in town. Although we usually opt for delivery, pizza is always hot and made just as ordered (extra cheese, well done). The sweet wine sauce and wheat crust are the greatest.

I've indulged in pizza here more than anywhere else in Lawrence. They use good ingredients and have a good selection. Pocket Za's are very good, thin slices are excellent. But be careful of the regular crust - the sauce is thin, the cheese is thin, and the thick crust doesn't have enough substance to carry the load. Twice I've called this summer to place an order and the kitchen had closed by 8:15. That is absurd! Is this a dying farm community or a vibrant college town?

Ate at Rudy's years ago - didn't even know if they were still in business - glad to know they are - didn't get to Lawrence much in the last few years but now do get through that way from time to time - look forward to checking it out again. The bread sticks were the BEST - can't wait to see if they are as good as I remember!

Rudy's is simply the best pizza in Lawrence. We order it for out-of-town guests all the time and they invariably love it. Our favorite: roasted red peppers, yellow banana peppers, spinach, and cashews. Incredible!

I had a bad experience with ordering delivery from Rudy's. On a night they were short on drivers my pizza was over an hour and a half late. The girl answering the phone was rude and refused to make sure the pizza would even get delivered. When I told her I thought it should be free of charge, she hung up on me! They finally ended up bringing the pizza, 2 hours cold, and with a request that I never order from them again.
As far as real pizza goes, Rudy's is fairly close to authentic pizza for being this far west of Chicago. But unfortunately the quality and skill of the company's customer service makes a big difference in product presentation and when dealing with pizza, half the equation is making it and the other is getting it to the customer within appropriate expectations. Their customer service needs a dose of real world work ethics.

Well, well. Allow me to retort...
I had to misfortune to get mixed up the events listed above. I am a former long-time employee of Rudy's, and happened to stop in for a bite to eat on a Sunday afternoon. When this young lady called and complained, I volunteered to run her pizza out to her so that she get it as quick as possible.
To make a long story short, she didn't provide the necessary information (unmarked house, no apt number) to find her door and did not pick-up when the driver called her. At that point, there was nothing we could do. When she called us back, she was insulting, abusive, and refused to allow the manager to do what he could to fix the situation. Even when she received a hot and fresh pizza at half-price, she continued to insult me and failed to admit even partial responsibility for the mix-up.
Unfortunately, these things happen in the delivery business. I can assure this customer, and all those that eat Rudy's, that they will do everything possible to make sure you get the best pizza in town whenever you call and do whatever they can to make it right if you don't. In exchange, I'd ask that her remember to treat them WITH THE RESPECT THAT ALL HARDWORKING PEOPLE DESERVE, Most of them bust their asses to make Rudy's what it is, the best pizza in town.

Other than being a little dark in the basement, Rudy's is the best in town. The pocket Zas are the best. The bread sticks are amazing as well. Certainly the best pizza in town.

Don't waste your time. This is simply the worst pizza I've tried in Lawrence thus far. After reading it was voted "best pizza in lawrence," I thought I'd give it a try. I was so disappointed with the bland, dry crust that it ruined the entire meal and I'll never go back.
Instead of flakey , chewy pizza crust (that comes from wood-fired pizza), this crust is hard and tasteless. I think I've had frozen store bought pizza that tasted better.
Can someone please open up a premium pizza joint in Lawrence?
