This is one of the most expensive bars I've been to in Lawrence. Very high prices for food that is average at best. The beer is very expensive, and too many uppity motorcycle enthusiasts, who disquise themselves as "bikers." I'll never go back to this bar again. I'll stick with Johny's Tavern.

As one of the proprietors of the Slow Ride Roadhouse, I just had to respond to scarthroat (who wanted to remain anonymous for obvious reasons).
One of the most frequent comments we get is how good our food is and what a great value it is. Maggie Del Campo, formerly of La Tropicana, runs our kitchen, and she's an absolutely fantastic cook.
As for beer prices, we got some of the best beer prices around. We don't run specials, because everyday our beer prices are as low as we can get them.
The Slow Ride Roadhouse is a biker bar, built by bikers for bikers. We've got a great group of people who stop by regularly, who love to have fun, and who love to ride. They're our kind of folks.

Slowride is great addition to Lawrence. Johnny's is fine, but isn't a true "biker" joint. Slowride is clean, super nice, and laid back. More than a bike night joint, although I'm definitely looking forward to the bike nights. How 'bout a Hot Rod night as well? Slowride is definitely a new favorite, looking forward to spending a lot of time here!

Slowride Roadhouse is something Lawrence definately needed for a long time! For once we can have a bar that is geared to an older, fun crowd. My compliments to the chef on the food, and hats off to the bartenders and servers for their 5 star service. They have the best looking bar staff in Lawrence. and Mr. scarthroat, if it's too expensive, your too poor, and if it wasn't fun you are too lame. The drink prices are reasonable. EVERYONE SHOULD TRY IT OUT!

I dont know where Mr scarthroat has been hang'in but it aint at the cool places. Slowride is a laidback with catering to the middle age and up people. Define biker = he or she who enjoys riding on 2 wheels in spare time for enjoyment and relaxation. Not everyone has to be a 1% er to be a biker that ain't the crowd anymore dude! And as far as the food my hats off to Maggie who runs the kitchen AWSOME munchies. Beer prices are fine and no complaints from the regulars. Best buy is a Hawg 120oz $14 some people just dont know what they are missin . Swing by on Thursday Bike bike night scarthroat and see the crowd dude. My hats off to the whole crew at Slowride Jessie has a great place with a cool crowd. Cause they aint at Johnnys

Yes, this is an awesome bar and grill. I loved the service and food. Unfortunately, I recently took a date to this place and one of the waitresses, who had waited on me on a previous occasion, decided to throw herself at me in front of my date. She wasn't even our waitress. She continued to stop by our table and throw her arms around me. I ended up not having a very fulfilling date and we had to leave early. Who hired this bimbo?

I have never been so disappointed in a place like I am with Slow Ride. I think their taco day is a waste and a rip off. No one mentioned that they put potatoes in their taco meat, so after I ordered it I was not happy to find them. Plus I knew a girl who worked there when they opened and have been told they try to re-serve food. Also there was a bar tender who wouldn't serve my girlfriend until she was done playing on her phone. No wonder their parking lot is always empty.

They have always been sold out of the special when we have gone, even as early as 6:30 pm. If it's not warm outside, it will be freezing inside, prepare to wear your coat all night long.Zipped up to the neck by 10 pm.The smokers go in and out all night, there are mulitple doors (despite nice double entry doors at the entrance) that patrons use to smoke, letting the warmth out and cold in. No heating system can possibly keep up with the traffic, and you will suffer. In warmer weather it was fine. January, it was horrible.Nice people, you have to pick your bands. Some hearing has been lost there. Friendly staff.

Not sure how ANYONE could NOT like this place. The staff is great, the drink prices are NOT over the top, and where else in Lawrence can you go see live music on a Friday or Saturday night with NO COVER CHARGE? You can't.
Slow Ride is a good time and I would recommend it to anyone. Not just for bikers. Quite a diverse crowd. I have never had a bad time.
The place is a class act.

I haven't tried the food out yet, but everything about this place is GREAT! I went out there to do a photo shoot yesterday and I couldn't have asked for a better location. The owners went out of their way to help us with the shoot and the staff and patrons were wonderful and even helped us as "extras" in a few shots. You need to check this place out!

This place is wonderful; usually have live bands every Friday and Saturday and everyone is welcome. The staff are all wonderful - and pretty, which sure doesn't hurt.
Be sure to check out The Basixx whenever they play; they are awesome.

My neighbor introduced me to Slowrides last year when I finally bought my first bike. Although it's a sportbike and not a cruiser I've never had any problems, maybe a few odd looks the times I've been the only sportbike in a sea of Harley's, but nothing else. We continue to go there all the time, and every so often sign up for a poker run or other charity event. Slowrides is a good place with people who were born to ride.

Breakfast is great, and never a wait for a table (yet!).
All the bad-ass 1%s can stay at Johnny's. Who needs that attitude?
I used to be married to one, and I emphasize "used to be".
Most of the bikers I know have grown out of that phase.
Jesse and Maggie and their staff are great and caring folks. They'll even put up your scoot and make sure you get home safe if you decide you've had too much to do it yourself. Who else does that around here?
