Though many have dubbed Superdrag a punk-pop or power pop band, their music has shown itself to be atop of the aforementioned genres. Taking as much influence from the British Invasion-style pop of the Beatles and the Zombies as My Bloody Valentine and Husker Du, their songs have always combined melodicism and noise in fully distinct fashion. Their first album, Regretfully Yours was a mainstream success spawing a radio/MTV hit with the song "Sucked Out." Although their next three albums, Head Trip In Every Key, In The Valley Of The Dying Stars, and Last Call For Vitriol, have not had mainstream success Superdrag seems more than content to play smaller show to long time fans, and convert quite a few new ones along the way. Despite a few line up changes they have managed to make consistently good albums and they can always be counted on for their rockin' live shows. It has been awhile since they have been in Lawrence, but fans around here can't wait to see them!
