FINALISTS :: Hearts to Waste, { blue }, Kelpie, VibraluxKJHK's annual local music festival is Lawrence's premiere battle of the bands. For over 10 years, the winner of Farmer's Ball has moved on to open SUA's heralded Day on the Hill. Though Day on the Hill is not happening this year, this year's winners will receive a full day of studio time at Black Lodge Recording.Tuesday -- Hearts to Waste, Boskk, the Afternoons, Captain Overreact, and { blue }Wednesday -- Ike Turner Overdrive, Kelpie, Esau (?), Sotonightimaysleep, and VibraluxFinals are Saturday night. Top two bands from each preliminary round will advance.The winner of the event will be decided by a panel of figures involved in the area music scene, split with crowd reaction. Music writers from the Lawrence Journal World, The Kansas City Star, and the Pitch will judge, as well as local show promoters, local radio djs, and others.
