The Detroit-based contemporary gospel group Salt of the Earth features a whopping nine singers ... no! WRONG ACT.The Lawrence quartet to which we refer, Salt the Earth (sans 'of') would scare the bejeesus out of a gospel band. Well, at least they would have six months ago. These days, they've toned it down a bit -- less guttural screams and more cathartic sings. You can't fault a band that's on the road eight months out of the year for trying to gain a few more fans. Onward, wayward sons!
