The Anniversary / Fourth of July

The last few months have been a turbulent time for The Anniversary. The band parted ways with the label (Vagrant) that helped make them a sellout draw across the United States and endured rumors of a fall-out with longtime friends and supporters The Get Up Kids. Though they could probably still pack The Bottleneck, The Anniversary chose to return to Lawrence's stages at one of the tiniest (albeit most charming) venues in town. Could this be an effort to win back the grassroots support that may have eluded them in the wake of controversy? Only "Your Majesty" may know. Regardless, the Tap Room should provide an intimate setting for the band to audition new material and bust out classics like "Crooked Crown." Opener Fouth of July sets the stage with some mopey indie folk tunes about heartbreak.
