Death Cab for Cutie / Long Winters

Granada

Named after a Bonzo Dog Band song, the Seattle quartet DCFC rocks strip-down indie-style, but with just enough keys and thick vocals to not let the sparse guitars make you yawn. Sincere lyrics do betray quiet despair, yet still Deathcab can be riveting. The Long Winters play very hummable pop, great songs that wear well but are immediately accessed.
