On the Uncle Tupelo scale, KC songwriter Thom Hoskins' songs are a bit more Farrar than Tweedy. With Buffalo Saints, Hoskins cranks up the amps and rocks out "No Depression" style: "My heart's been split 50/50 on whiskey and gin / There ain't no drink strong enough to make me forget you left me again," he sings on "50/50," one of a handful of demos that have been circulating in preparation for a debut album. In addition to local staple Andrew Connor of Ghosty, this show also features the debut of High Dive, a rock band with stick wizard Josh Adams (The Mums) behind the kit.
