The Billions / Florida / OK Jones / The Ice Cream Sandwiches

Granada

Though the Granada is largely known for hosting larger touring acts, the venue is making an effort to reconnect with the local scene. This all-local Friday night bill is a solid step in that direction. Headliners The Billions combine the endearing flair of Death Cab For Cutie with the undeniable catchiness of The Cars, while OK Jones gives a nod to Wilco with its no-frills, pedal-steel sweetened approach to indie/alt-country/whatever. The show also marks the debut of Florida, which features singer/songwriter Matt Rice and members of the Matt Suggs Band. To add insult to injury, opener The Ice Cream Sandwiches might be the best band to come out of Topeka since ... well, The Billions.
