This evening at downtown used-books staple The Dusty Bookshelf will feature readings by Unholy Day Press poet and publisher, W.E. Leathem, and Connie Dover, whose first book is scheduled for released by UDP in 2005. Kansas City songwriter Chad Rex will be on hand with his wry, alt-country-blues songwriting in the vein of John Prine or Jay Farrar, and painter Kara Werner will also have a selection of works on display. There is no cover for the event, though attendees are encouraged to bring holiday donations of canned goods for Lawrence's The Social Service League Food Pantry.
