What do you get when a great banjo player heads to Colorado? Unfortunately, theres no punch line to this joke, other than one less great banjo player in Lawrence. Local musician Charlie Rose will be moving to the Centennial State a couple days after this show, leaving behind two of the most prolific bands in town. The multitalented Rose shined on banjo as well as guitar and bass with The Shoes, and also lit up The Tap Room on Sunday nights as the guitarist for jazz outfit The Mums. This show offers one last opportunity to see Rose with The Shoes, as well as two other old-time string bands: The Schwillbillies from Madison, WI and the Dewayn Bros. from Emporia, KS.
