"My roommate's a _____" If you can't complete this sentence, you're not listening to The Buzz, which single-handedly turned Anything But Joey from an unknown local pop-punk band to the area's biggest draw by putting "Girl Roommate" into heavy rotation. Now, the band must prove it's more than a one-trick pony, and a new EP titled "Necessary, But Not Cool" does just that, offering four well-produced pop nuggets in the vein of Weezer or The Ataris. Though the songs offer little in the way of cerebral substance, there are plenty of hooks to bounce around to.
