Movie in the Park: Brother Bear

The Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department's Special Events Division will again be holding Movies in the Park this summer at the William Kelly Bandstand in historic South Park, 1131 Massachusetts St. Brother Bear will be shown Thursday, July 22, at dusk (approximately 8:30 p.m.).Brother Bear is a 2003 Walt Disney release and tells the story of a young Inuit hunter who seeks vengeance against a bear, only to be magically changed into a bear himself. The only chance the young hunter has to change back is with a talkative bear cub. In the process, the hunter learns the true meaning of "brotherhood."In the case of inclement weather the movie will be shown in South Park Recreation Center, 1141 Massachusetts St.For more information on Movies in the Park, contact Duane Peterson, special events coordinator, at 832-7940.
