Fashion Slam!

a benefit for the Social Service League

This is an event created to raise money for the Social Service League of Lawrence by way of sharing the creative talents of all the designers, artists and supporters involved. Six designers will present their wears they created from the Social Service League Thrift Store. Four teams, made up of Downtown Lawrence employees, will create fashion know-how and fashion know-not from huge piles of Social Service League clothes and props. The teams will be given 40 minutes to create their fashions and at the end of the evening, their creations will take the stage, as it becomes up to the audience to decide on the Fashion Slam winner.Stefani Garcia, Amy Price, David Hawley, Kylie Grater, Lorraine Hilleary-Alber and Angela Schulz are the designers involved. The theme for their portion of the show, is created individually with the designers' response to one question; "What does the Social Service League Mean To You?" This question is asked of the artists and the audience.
