Blonde Redhead / Liars

Granada

Once dwarfed by (fairly accurate) comparisons to Sonic Youth, Blonde Redhead has been carving it's own niche a little deeper with each passing release. Odd tunings and dischordant art-punk have always been a part of Blonde Redhead's repertoire, but the band's lastest album "Misery Is A Butterfly" finds them drawing closer to the sublime aspects of melody. Lead singer Kazu Makino whispers louder than most female vocalists can sing, with gorgeous instrumentation to boot.
