With the most basic of weapons guitar, mandolin, banjo and a one-string gas-tank bass known as the "stitchgiver" Split Lip creates more pure rock and roll volume than most bands who claim to descend from the gospel of Sabbath. The band's live show puts bow-tie-and-cumber-bund bluegrass to shame, while at the same time staying true to the genre's four-part harmonies, hard-luck subject matter and noodle-dance inducing blitzkriegs. The band's forth full-length album "Should Have Seen It Coming" is its best to date, and this two-night stand at the Bottleneck should provide ample time for new classics like "Redneck Tailgate Dream" as well as old standbys like "3.2 Flu" and "Never Make It Home."(FRI) with Steve Barnes and The Country Money Band / Truckstop Honeymoon(SAT) with Hairy Ape's BMX / Truckstop Honeymoon
