Austin art-rockers And You Will Know Us by the Trail of the Dead are probably best known for breaking stuff. They incurred massive ceiling damage the first (and only?) time they played The Bottleneck, and it's pretty much a foregone conclusion the band's two drum sets will be scattered across the stage by the end of the show. The reason they get away with such antics is simple: great tunes, and a better live show. Not since the Smashing Pumpkins has an artsy-fartsy band dared to be so epic ... though local openers Doris Henson though local openers Doris Henson do a damn fine job of that themselves.
