E.M.U. Theatre Presents "Don't Fear the Rooster"

Lawrence based E.M.U. Theatre formally announces the opening of our 2005 ten minute play festival, Don't Fear The Rooster, Friday August 12th, 8:00pm at the Lawrence Arts Center, performance classroom, 940 New Hampshire St. Lawrence, Kansas and showing August 13th, 14th, 19th, 20th and 21st. Friday and Saturday shows are at 8:00pm and Sunday matinees at 2:00pm. Tickets are six dollars at the door, and each performance is accompanied by a pre-show art exhibit.This is the fourth summer that E.M.U. has hosted a festival of original ten-minute plays. This year's festival is an evening of comedy and music with six original plays by Lawrence authors: Jungle Thrill written by Ron Willis, directed by Laura Rose, Pleasure Cruise written and directed by Joel Reavis, Blown Away written and directed by Jeff Sorrels, So, A Baby Seal Walks Into A Club written by Andrew Stowers and Adri Pendergrass, Faust: A Sex Comedy written by Leo Nightingale, directed by Joe Griffin, and Too Far written by Jeff Sorrels with Melissa Morrell in her directorial debut. The show also features musical guests Lonnie Fisher, Howard Callahan, and JoeGriffin. E.M.U.Theatre is also pleased to host a lobby exhibit of original artworks by local artists Heather Drefke, Melissa Morrell, and Josie Thorpe at the Lawrence Arts Center free and gratis to the public before each performance.
