One of Lawrence's most consistently entertaining poetry nights is the Fresh Ink Poetry Slam, which features a cast of local veterans as well house jazz band that improvises with newcomers. The dimly lit interior of the Jazzhaus lends a mellow karma to the introspective yet excitable proceedings. All styles welcome: comedy, angry, love, sexual, political, abstract. Show up early (8pm or so) to guarantee a time slot.
