Since Weezer didn't bother to send us a copy of "Make Believe," we'll have to reserve judgement on the band's widely reported fall from grace. Judging by the insipid single "Beverly Hills," however, the rumors appear to have genuine sea legs. To be fair, though, the singles were never the best songs on Weezer's albums. Rivers Cuomo still has a great voice, and Weezer has always been one of the best live bands on the map. Likewise for openers Cake, who haven't yet faltered in their quest to deliver engaging and irreverant pop songs.

Weezer's one of the best live bands on the map? All they do is stand there.

Cake...weren't they the one who got all bitchy at Wakarusa a couple of years ago and went off on how Kansans are all a bunch of hicks??!! They can shove their "engaging and irreverant pop songs" up their asses...
