Born as a duo consisting of former Creature Comforts frontman Chris Tolle and drummer Jake Cardwell, The Belles have expanded to a five piece with members in KC and Lawrence. The band boasts some of the best songwriting chops in the area, with heavy doses of Neil Young-inspired balladry and a predilection towards early-'70s folk and country music. The band's smooth sound recently hit the WB's "One Tree Hill" ... but don't hold it against them.
