Description: February was a study in contrasts for the local music scene: The New Amsterdams made a childrens' record, while The Esoteric had their very soul wretched from the clutches of their loins by a brutal house fire that turned $20,000 worth of musical gear into kindling. These two stories converge for a benefit show at the Jackpot Saloon, where New Amsterdams singer Matt Pryor will likely bringing the metalhead contingent to tears with his rendition of "Two Happy Dinosaurs."
