It would easy to rest on your laurels when you and your hubby were America's two most influential folk singers of the 1960s. For this soprano-voiced mother of all female singer/songwriters, however, staying productive has proven to be a much better option. Baez's most recent studio album "Dark Chords on a Big Guitar" showcased her interpretations of the songs of fringe-folk artists like Gillian Welch, Josh Ritter and Ryan Adams. The album was surpisingly rock-oriented for an artist who has been notoriously understated, and Baez's most recent live disc "Bowery Songs" continues in the that full-band vein.
