Blood on the Wall proves once again that the quickest way out of Lawrence is to ... get out of Lawrence. Guitarist and vocalist Brad Shanks had a little-known Larryville two-piece called Bandit Teeth before moving to Williamsburg, NY, where he hooked up with his sister Courtney Shanks (bass, vocals) and her friend Miggy Littleton (drums) to form Blood on the Wall. The result is a jarring reincarnation of the Black Francis/Kim Deal dynamic that wrestles B. Shank's high-pitched vocals with artsy, atonal guitar splurts.
