Description: Kelpie celebrates the release of it's first full-length "Hey Friends, It's Kelpie!" tonight at The Bottleneck. Originally scheduled for September, the band put the record release on hold when an opportunity arose to join Koufax for a European Tour. The record presents the band at their finest: creativity brimming within the context of schizophenic pop structures.
Majorie Fair hails from LA and crafts sophisticated singer/songwriter pop that recalls The Doves, Mercury Rev and/or Coldplay. The band's debut record "Self Help Serenade" has popped up on a number of "Best Of" lists for good reason: epic, ambitious arrangements matched by keen lyrical and melodic sensibilities.
Will Hoge wants to Springsteen. Or maybe Mellencamp. Heck, he'd be happy with Bon Jovi at this point. Big, muscular inspirational rock is Hoge's torch, and he wields it like a ten-ton beam. Whether Hoge is a patriarch or a poseur will be up for the masses to decide, but you can't fault him for lack of effort.
