Broken Social Scene is a collective of a dozen-plus rockers from Canada who cherish the sounds of overkill. The group's new self-titled album comes with high expectations, as "You Forgot In People" (2003) was one of the year's most surprising masterpieces. Early returns indicate a more cryptic and chaotic album, replete with all the bells and whistles that tend to follow 15-person rock groups. Opener Feist is the alter-ego of BSS collaborator Leslie Feist, whose resume also includes performances with Kings of Convenience, By Divine Right and Peaches.
