In the midst of a massive tour with Green Day, Jimmy Eat World managed to squeeze in an unlikely club date in Lawrence. The bands' amped-up power emo made a splash with 2001's "Bleed American" and evolved with the release of "Futures" in 2004. This show promises to be a tight ticket on account of Jimmy Eat World's mainstream stature, but those lucky enough to get in the door will be treated to a rare intimate performance from one of MTV's most credible and road-tested acts. Why did no one promote, at all (ie snub?), opening band The Appleseed Cast. Does anyone find this strange? Who was in charge of this? You would think that local music promoters would support local bands and want to see them play successful shows. Hmm...seems like local music politics fails yet another great band. Additionally, I am sure that Richard Gintowt will not mention these guys in any post show review. He might rather shamelessly mention his own band's upcoming schedule, instead.
