The whole recent crop of post-punk, Blink 182-ish bands do their best to try and pretend they are lovelorn teen skate kids, when in reality they are often 30-year-old millionaires. So it's refreshing to hear that style of music coming from the real McCoy. Case in point: Lawrence Letterday, a trio of 15-year-olds whose catchy, melodic ditties rival those of most bands appearing on the Warped Tour. The Lawrence act, who just released an EP called "New Beginnings," will make its first foray into the live club scene - a whopping six years before its members are old enough to attend a typical show. This is a show benefiting the youth in the Midlands Mission Center area who wish to take part in summer activities like camps, retreats, and mission trips. Farewell to Ashlyn, Lawrence Letterday, and Lucy's Revenge will all be playing. Cost is $2 with any student ID and $3 without. The show starts at 7pm and ends at 11 at the University Community of Christ Church located at University Drive and Iowa street.
