with That One Guy

Particle brought its "funktronic" sound to masses via the Coachella, Bonnaroo and Wakarusa Festivals, as well as its own "Krewe of Particle People" festival in New Orleans. The band's disco and funk-heavy sets serve up prime boogie-down real estate, synthesizing a swirling tornado of trippy visuals and porn-caliber jazz fusion. Opener That One Guy plays galvanized seven-foot steel pipes and sings about butt-grabbing and pimp-slapping. He's down with Ani Difranco but he sounds like Primus. He brews more funk with one string than most bands brew with entire horn sections.
