If you lived in a tiny town in Kansas and all your best friends were musicians, what would you do? Write a bunch of songs? Learn a lot of instruments? Tour as much as possible? That is exactly what a collective from Emporia has done since 2002 ... in two dimensions. Loco Macheen and The DeWayn Bros. are a Jekyll and Hyde so to speak. The Dewayn Bros. use clever song arrangements and beautiful harmonies to create a Kansas bluegrass sound, whereas Loco Machine - the Hyde approach - is the electrified/drum-kitted version that is as comfortable playing punk rock or Latin grooves as it is honky-tonk. If you miss this show, don't miss them at the Walnut Valley Festival, should you be fortunate enough to attend.
