Considering that GCDC's moniker is a reference to "the only chords we know," the local old-timey/good-timey oufit is making the most of a time-tested formula. Formed impromptu in the Pecan Grove of Winfield 2004, the band recently tracked a slick-sounding LP with Mike West of Truckstop Honeymoon (also featuring guest fiddle from Billy Spears). Stories about catfish, women, trash barges and Lawrence lore permeate the 12-song collection, which is sure to sell less copies than ACDC but is pretty dang good anyways.
