Dan Rockhill Talk and Book signing
When: Tuesday, March 14, 2006, 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: Lawrence Arts Center, 940 N.H., Lawrence
Cost: Free
Age limit: All ages
Categories: Lectures
Description: The man behind Lawrence's funkiest residential dwellings will talk, show slides and answer questions about his work and his new book "Designing and Building." Rockhill, who heads up KU's studio804 and his own design-build firm, is known as a bold and often controversial architect who goes to great lengths to create original forms and functions. His Lawrence-based designs include the Shimomura house at 15th and Wagon Wheel, the "Shotgun" house at 7th and Alabama and the in-the-works Van Go Mobile Arts renovation. This event is free and open to the public.
