Description: When Morrissey calls your debut record "the most loveable thing I'd heard in years," you've got something going. The Smoking Popes enjoyed the infatuation of their hometown Chicago and beyond through most of the '90s, releasing two widely acclaimed albums of uncommonly melodic pop punk and scoring a movie soundtrack hit with "Need You Around." After a seven-year hiatus, the band has regrouped for a greatest hits tour and a forthcoming new album.
