Sick of It All

with Stretch Armstrong / First Blood

As one of the longest-standing bands still proudly waving the flag of New York City hardcore music, Sick Of It All is enjoying its 20th anniversary this year. Not surprisingly, the group is celebrating with a marathon tour that brings it through Lawrence before heading for exotic locales such as Italy, Ireland and Brazil. Originally formed by brothers Lou and Pete Koller, Sick Of It All set the tone of their music and ideology by offering a no-frills view of the world around them, often revolving around social injustices and life on the streets of New York. It's a formula that hasn't been abandoned after two decades - and in this modern musical climate, that's worthy of high praise.
