A benefit for Gibson Huston

with Fourth of July / SceneboosterSoundSystem / DJ Candlepants

Eighth Street Tap Room

Four-year-old Gibson Huston recently returned home to Lawrence from radical surgery that removed half of his brain to give him a shot at having a normal life without seizures. Local producer and DJ Josh Powers has organized an evening of entertainment to help defray costs from the extremely expensive surgery (donations will be accpeted throughout the evening). Headlining will be Lawrence's own Fourth of July, a jubilant pop-folk-rock ensemble fronted by singer/songwriter Brendan Hangauer. The group recently posted a delicious new song titled "In Debt" on its MySpace, accompanied by a hilarious video. DJs SceneboosterSoundSystem (Powers) and Candlepants (Curtis McCoy) set the stage.
