Cursive / The Thermals

with The Detachment Kit

Saddle Creek's Cursive have been pushing the envelope of post-something indie rock for more than a decade, releasing theme-laden albums loaded with gut-pounding riffage and cathartic dynamics. "Happy Hollow" is the group's latest marathon of a record; an emphatic collection of the band's trademark dischordant guitar stylings as well as some sonically expansive ballads in the the vein of lead singer Tim Kasher's "side project" The Good Life. Energetic Sub Pop cheerleaders The Thermals and Chicago's The Detachment Kit round out a fully loaded evening of rock.
