Description: Confronting the dissolution of their former band Jet By Day, David Matysiak and Mason Brown took their recording gear on the road and made a record with some old friends. Featuring Lawrence's Adrianne Verhoeven as well as members of Omaha's extended Saddle Creek family, "Gentlemen on the Rocks" displays an eclectism that stretches beyond the amped up indie rock of JBD. The result is the best record of the duo's career, awash in acoustic instrumentation, anything-goes arrangements and painstakingly layered vocals. The newly minted band sets the stage for local stallions Arthur Dodge and the Horsefeathers in a chummy double bill.
